This photo was taken in the gardens in Malchin. Here you can see land that is completely flooded due to all the rain at the beginning of 2024.
The picture was taken at the bathing establishment on Lake Teterow. Because it was taken in April, you can't see any people here, just the water and the platform, which makes the photo look idyllic.
The photo was taken in the moors (meadows) on the outskirts of Malchin. During the shoot, Klara had the idea of going into the water and just jumping around a bit. This gave us a template to photograph.
The photo was taken in the moors (meadows) on the outskirts of Malchin. All the rain in 2024 was very important for the moors so that they could be wet again. This is the last remnant of it, taken in June.
This photo was taken in the garden in Malchin. The reason for choosing this location was the excess water at the beginning of 2024. As the water was so close to the fence, I also found the composition with the fence and the ivy very appealing.
This photo was taken in the garden in Malchin. At the beginning of 2024, the grounds were flooded with water. So much that you couldn't go any further along the rest of the walkway.
The photo was taken at Lake Teterow. The weather was fine there at the time, but it was quite cold. When people went for a dip, it was worth the photo.
On the way to the swimming center in Teterow, I saw this man cleaning his little boat. When I asked him if I could take a photo of him with his boat, he casually said ‘Joar’ and just sat down. Nevertheless, he was beaming with passion as he put his hand on his boat and gazed dreamily into the distance.
The photo was taken when the water group went into the meadows to take photos. Originally, a kind of undercover photo was planned, but the flash went on, so they looked into the camera laughing.
My name is Vonrique Lawrence. My favorite thing to do is to make food. I’m very good with my hands and technology so people come to me with problems with this stuff. I chose street photography because the more you see of the streets, you see your history. I want the people to know Delft is not a bad place, there’s a lot of good here. Don’t judge by the surroundings. My message to people my age would be don’t drop out of school, go for your dreams and don’t listen to the haters.

Coming to Germany in 2015 and navigating that experience while also keeping up with the variety of my hobbies and passions and thriving in high school has truly been a challenge. I know, that it takes a lot of resilience and dedication to overcome struggles and still pursue your passions. I think, I should definitely be proud of how far I’ve come and all the progress I’ve made—both in music and in adapting to a new environment and keeping up with it.

I’m Jonas, I’m 16 years old and I live on a farm near Malchin. I am the youngest of 4 siblings. My parents are happily married and work in agriculture. That’s why I’m particularly interested in farming. In my free time, apart from school, I spend time with
my friends and my parents’ farm. After I finish school, I want to do an apprenticeship as a farmer.
After successfully completing my apprenticeship, I want to go to Australia for a year with a friend and work in agriculture there.
I’m sure I’ll be able to gain a lot of experience and then possibly go on to study agriculture. My ultimate goal is to take over my
parents’ farm. But there’s still time until then, so let’s get back to the photography course. I decided to do the photography course because I had already worked with a camera at my former school and I am fascinated by successful pictures. The project also sounded exciting and I think I can learn a lot from it.

Hello! I am Mia and I am 16 years old and I go to the Fritz-Greve-Gymnasium Malchin. I live in Gielow, a small village, near Malchin with my family. At our school we have many projects, including the photo project. I chose the project because I am interested in history on the one hand and in photography, because I like to take photos and want to know something about the photography. In my free time, I dance in a club and also like to read books.

My name is Cleo Hendrick and three interesting things about myself is that I’m kind, I like to work hard, and I like gardening. We have a community garden to get more children involved so that they will be off the streets.
My topic that I choose was street photography. And the best thing out of it is to meet different people with different characters. The most interesting person that I met while taking pictures was the man fixing pipes down the street. His name was Yasim. And, he’s been doing it for 38 years to provide for his family.
My photos for the people in Germany will tell a different story because while they think that it’s all about lions walking around in the streets, it’s actually about people working in their community, trying to change what is actually happening here and providing for themselves and their families.

Hello, I’m Henning. As a 16-year-old, I’m rather quiet. I’m not the loud type who is always the center of attention, but rather the one who prefers to stay in the background and observe things. My sense of humor is a bit special, but still there. I’m interested in different things and am curious about life. My interests range from science fiction books to video games.

I like trying new things. I’m good with technology. I love drawing and I can sing. Before I went to Germany, I thought I was going to only see old buildings and people with traditional wear. But it wasn’t like that. People were so kind and it’s a very beautiful country.
I want people to see Delft in a positive way, not just dangerous. My photos will show everything that there is so much more to delft than the labels that people have put on us.

I’m very interesting and people always assume differently about me and when I’m open they realize that it’s not actually true what they were thinking and yeah, I’m just different from people. I’m just a person that changes the community through images, not the typical coloured girl.
I’m done with school this year, I’m gonna go into law and study law. It was always my dream to study law, because since I was in primary school, all I wanted to be is a lawyer.

Three interesting things about myself is I love the Lord, I love dancing, and I love skateboarding. I grew up in a Christian household. My grandma, she’s deep into Christianity my grandma raised me.
I have like 4 mothers. Because my gran raised me when My grand wasn’t there, it was my aunties.
I started skateboarding young actually. Like early early grade 6. I got my first skateboard.
Dancing is also something I picked up from my mother and my friend. My mom, if you had to see her back in the day, she used to be able to breakdance like Michael Jackson.
I chose my topic of a day in the life of a professional to show the talent and high work ethic of people in Delft. My exhibit is changing minds by showing the world that we are not as barbaric and evil as we are often made out to be.

Hello, my name is Charlotta and I’m a year 10 student at the Fritz-Greve-Gymnasium in Malchin. I am 16 years old, live in a village 15 kilometres from Malchin and have 3 little sisters. I ride every day in my free time and I’m a competitive rider. I ride 2 to 3 horses every day and train twice a week with my trainers. In addition to equestrian sports, I am very interested in agriculture. We have a large farm here at home. When I’m not on the horse, you can find me on our tractors. As I love farming, I would like to study agriculture after school and take over my parents’ farm.

Hello, my name is Nick. I’m 16 years old and live in the small town of Maleh in Germany. My family situation is quite simple: I am an only child and my parents have been happily married for over 20 years.
For many years I have been fascinated by technology in many forms. Whether it’s the big fire engine, which I often ride in, or the camera to “capture” the world. I also enjoy playing the piano to find a balance in my life and I play tennis to keep myself physically fit.
I dream of studying medicine after my A-levels. You have a lot of contact with technology there too, but there is also the balance of interacting with people and saving lives. I would also like to travel to New York City at some point in my life. I find the city very impressive, modern in parts and it has many landmarks that you have to see at some point. I would then try to photograph and capture these great moments. Nevertheless, I would also put the camera away and simply enjoy the moment.
I chose the photographic theme to get a different perspective from the normal art lessons. I simply find it much better to take several well-considered photos to look at the world from different angles and to be able to tell little stories and also get perspectives from other places in the world.

My name is Lilly and I am in year 10 at the Fritz-Greve-Gymnasium in Malchin. My school is relatively small with around 300 pupils, but we have lots of activities like the project with Sabina. I come from a small village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Gielow to be precise. This year, my school is offering me the opportunity to take part in a photo project. The project deals with various clichés and the aim is to get rid of them. There were various groups to choose from, I personally opted for the group “My family tree”. Because of my interest in history, this group was just right for me. My 93-year-old great-grandfather has an extraordinary biography, which I would like to make accessible and record for the general public. My intention is to get to know my family history better and to educate people about the post-war period.

Hey guys, I am Theo, 16 years old and a student of the Fritz-Greve-Gymnasium.
I live with my parents and my bigger brother(Carl). The village, where i live is very small, we are round about 49 villagers, near to our village is a lake, some corn-fields and a forest. It is a not very exiting place, but somehow very pleasant to live.
My hobbys are: Sport, cooking, playing video games and building small things. I really try to find a balance between them, but i have not often the motivation to really build something, so i mostly cook for my family, make sport and play video games.

I’m originally from Johannesburg but I moved to Cape Town in grade 8. I really love history, I’m a history fanatic. I’m a self taught history fanatic. I live in Delft now, which is a very loving and heartwarming community. My family is a typical South African family, very big, loving, and funny. My community Delft is very loving, some people see it as dangerous but I see it as somewhere for families to grow.
What I hope my pictures will bring to light is that people of the world will understand what south africa is actually about. Not just poverty but actually happiness, love, and growth.

I live in Delft. I was raised by my grandmother and live with my brother and two sisters. I love doing work with my hands. I enjoy woodworking and building projects. Making a picture project has allowed me to see the world in a different way. Rather than seeing the world framed how the people who raised me see it.

My name is Blake Arendse, and my favorite subject is mathematics. My personality, I’m always sleeping, always eating, always straightforward.
I’ve chosen the topic, what could I have become. I think the reason why I chose that topic is to see how hard some people’s jobs are, and ask them a few questions, how do they get there. Because I’m trying to follow the same steps. I want to study.
I don’t want people to see Delft as a bad place. My photos will show the people that, it’s not. And life in Delft is actually, um, Most people describe Delft as a dangerous place, but it’s not a dangerous place. It’s actually a place where most love is. But it is a hard life, right? And it’s where I feel safe also.
I’ve learnt that you must be proud of your heritage. You must always be proud of yourself. And,, you know, always be proud of your heritage.

Photography keeps me busy. It’s more of a business. I don’t make money out of it. I do metric polls, weddings and events like clubs. Events are more fun for me. You see, definitely emotions at this. I want to be an accountant, so I can fulfill my mother’s dreams. Also, I want to be a photographer, because I want to capture people’s different, different emotions. But I’d love to look after old people, or disabled kids.

I’m a person that likes to communicate with people. I’m easy in inviting new friends and meeting other people. It’s always my pleasure to talk to people, and I’ve helped people in ways that I never thought I could. I never thought of being a therapist, but I will, I will go into it. Cause I see that I’m actually good at it, but what I actually want to become is an accountant. That’s my dream. I don’t picture myself studying in Cape Town anymore. I feel like I want to go overseas to Australia, study there. So when I’m studying there, I want to work in a bank, like, yeah. I chose the topic of being in the work and profession because of, I have those subjects and I always find them interesting to know how people started working, what they got to become and like, what challenges they faced before becoming in the profession
